About

ABOUT US

We are a husband-and-wife team originally from the UK, and we moved to Canada in 2022. When we arrived, I was 16 weeks pregnant with our first child, and very soon after settling in, we both realised just how big the handmade craft scene was here.

This was my dream! I had been making greetings cards for years, but the crafting scene in the UK was much smaller. Markets were less common and generally not as well supported as they are in Canada. When I realised how thriving the handmade community was in Edmonton, I was elated and eager to start crafting as soon as possible.

My first market was four months after our first child was born, and from then on, I tried to attend at least one market each month. Some months, I found that I had booked every weekend with markets and had no time left for my family.

My husband worked Monday to Friday, and I worked every weekend. Where was our family time, our spare time, and the time we had together?

We soon realised that although crafting was my dream, our family was more important, and there had to be a better way than spending every weekend away from them. The hours weren't great, the constant setup and takedown were becoming exhausting, and then there were the markets that tested my sanity with low sales and, sometimes, no customers at all! Yes, we've all been there.

There was only one simple way to solve the problem: open our own business.

That would obviously give me more "spare" time... right?

Well, no. But what it does give us is something even more important. I get to run our family business, my husband and I get to work together again, and I get to spend my days selling other people's amazing crafts while creating a more affordable retail model for makers.

So, after two years of research, searching for the right location, working out all the logistics, and welcoming one more baby into the family, we're doing it!

Between us, we have more than 20 years of retail management experience, one Business Management degree, one Business Management diploma, and a strong desire to succeed in our own business while helping others succeed in theirs.

Together, we have it covered. My husband handles the finance, accounting, and all the behind-the-scenes magic, while I get to talk with vendors about why they do what they do, help customers find exactly what they're looking for, and take care of all the fun, creative, and social aspects of the business.

Our Aim

From the very beginning, we wanted to create a space where vendors felt confident that the person representing them was someone they could trust. Providing affordable options for makers at different stages of their business journey was incredibly important to us.

Whether it's a smaller shelf for a stay-at-home parent earning a little extra income, a hobbyist sharing their passion, or a larger display for a seasoned professional whose products are already carried in stores across the province, we wanted to create a place for everyone.

We wanted to make retail accessible to all crafters, and we believe we've done just that.

We hope you'll join us in supporting local makers—whether by becoming a vendor, shopping with us, or simply helping spread the word that we're here.
